Ghost Gallops

  • 2023
  • Unreal Engine 5

Another project made for Buas and my first time working in a team with other developers. Ghost Gallops is a 2D Platformer where you race against a ghost to the end of the level, encountering obstacles such as lava and walls you must dash through. Each developer was responsible for one level, with each having a unique level mechanic, mine being springpads. This project taught me the importance of the 3Cs – character, camera, and controller, as well as the Four Step Level Design process, also known as Kishōtenketsu. This was the project that made me realise I wanted to be a Level Designer.

Morpho

  • 2023
  • Unity

Made with a partner for a Game Jam. Morpho is a puzzle game that involves the player switching between three states, pushing blocks, and opening gates. The player can switch from their default state to a small, nimble state, or a large, heavy state, which will enable or disable certain abilities. Being small allows you to fit through gaps while being heavy allows you to break weak platforms. I was responsible for the puzzle design, as well as some of the ability concepting, in this project.

Paperboy Remake

  • 2022
  • Unreal Engine 5

My first in-engine project made for Buas and first time using Unreal Engine 5. A remake of the 1985 arcade game Paperboy. This project taught me a lot about the blueprinting system Unreal uses, including Timelines, Event Dispatches, and many other of the basic nodes.

Flip Flop

  • 2021
  • Unreal Engine 4

The very first game I ever made, excluding custom levels from level editors. Flip Flop is a simple puzzle platformer where the player cannot jump, but reverse gravity. Made as my intake project for BUAS.
